Wingate Companies is dedicated to bringing positive changes to the communities it serves.

Charitable giving is at the core of Wingate’s culture. It starts at the top  with Mark Schuster, Principal of Wingate Companies, and the Schuster family, and continues with each of our valued staff members who all understand the importance of giving back.

Operation P.E.A.C.E in Atlanta and Boston and The Schuster Transplant Center at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston were founded with major gifts from the Schuster family. Wingate Companies has continued to build on that legacy of philanthropy in an impactful way.

In 1995, Wingate Companies founded Operation P.E.A.C.E (Positive Education Always Creates Elevation), at its Village of Bedford Pines housing community in Atlanta, GA. What began as an after-school enrichment project run by local college students has grown into an award winning, full-service program for both children and adults to promote academic achievement, computer literacy, as well as social, vocational and technical skills. Operation P.E.A.C.E. has been recognized by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), civic and educational organizations, as well as leaders in business and entertainment such as basketball legend Magic Johnson.

Wingate opened a second Operation P.E.A.C.E center in Boston in 2001 to provide children with homework assistance and other extracurricular opportunities while also encouraging academic success and cultural awareness. For more information on Operation P.E.A.C.E, go to and

In 1978, Mark Schuster donated a kidney to his younger brother Scott, who was battling for his life with a threatening disease. That life-saving transplant began a long-standing relationship between Mark, Scott and their parents, Elaine and Gerald Schuster with Brigham and Women’s Hospital.

In 2004, with a mission to help others make transplants a lifelong success, the Schuster family funded The Schuster evaluation for kidney and pancreas transplant candidates. This helps to alleviate the stress of multiple trips to the hospital, can reduce a patient’s time to transplant listing and provides the structure to support collaboration Family Transplant Research Center at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. The center provides a single-day, pre-transplant among caregivers, patients and their families.
